- Up to 26 players per team roster, including at least three goalkeepers
- In case of injury or illness:
- Goalkeepers may be replaced at any time during the final tournament
- All other players may be replaced up to 24 hours before team’s first match
- Up to five substitutions per team per match, in up to three windows
- Each team may make one additional substitution in case of concussion; if used, other team given one additional substitution
- Group phase:
- Twelve groups; four teams per group
- Pts = 3W + D
- Top two teams in each group, plus top eight third placed teams, advance
- Elimination phase:
- If tied after 90 minutes, extra time played [two 15 min periods]
- Each team given one additional substitution and substitution window
- If still tied, match decided by penalty shootout
