The draw for the 2026 Men’s World Cup was held on FRI 05 DEC 2025 in Washington, DC, United States. The 48 participating teams were placed into twelve groups of four teams each.

The opening match of the tournament on THU 11 JUN 2026 features Mexico and South Africa in México, CDMX, Mexico, a rematch of the opening match at the 2010 Men’s World Cup. The other two host nations will play the following day, Canada against the winner of UEFA playoff final A, and the United States against Paraguay.

Curaçao will face Germany in their first ever Men’s World Cup match. Cabo Verde will play their first match against Spain, Jordan against Austria, and Uzbekistan against Colombia.

The top two teams in each group, plus the top eight third placed teams, will advance to the elimination phase, leading to the final match on SUN 19 JUL 2026 in East Rutherford, NJ, United States.
