Congo DR and Iraq have qualified for the 2026 Men’s World Cup with wins in the playoffs on TUE 31 MAR 2026. Both teams return to the Men’s World Cup after long absences.

Congo DR and Jamaica played to a goalless draw in Zapopan, Jal, Mexico, after 90 minutes. In the extra time period, Axel TUANZEBE scored from a corner, sealing a 1-0 win. The Leopards qualify for the first time since 1974 and will take part in Group K against Colombia, Portugal, and Uzbekistan.

Ali AL-HAMADI gave Iraq an early lead against Bolivia in Guadalupe, NL, Mexico. La Verde found an equaliser late in the half through Moisés PANIAGUA, but Aymen HUSSEIN’s winner in the 53rd minute earned Iraq the 48th and final ticket to the Men’s World Cup. They will meet Norway, France, and Senegal in Group I, their first Men’s World Cup matches in 40 years.
