France, Norway, and Senegal have advanced from Group I at the 2026 Men’s World Cup, as Iraq were eliminated.

For les Bleus, it was a commanding performance in the group phase, with three wins from three matches. Ousmane DEMBÉLÉ led the pace with four goals, including a hat trick against Norway, whilst Kylian MBAPPÉ added three of his own to take his career Men’s World Cup total to 16, tying Germany’s Miroslav KLOSE for second on the all time list.

Erling HAALAND scored four of his own in Norway’s first two matches, both wins. With the top two teams already advanced, Senegal cruised to a 5-0 win over an Iraqi squad that was reduced to ten players by an early red card.

France move on to the round of 32, where they will take on Sweden in East Rutherford, NJ, United States on TUE 30 JUN 2026. On the same day in Arlington, TX, United States, Norway will face Côte d’Ivoire. Senegal’s opponent will be known only when the group phase concludes.
