The UEFA group phase of qualifiers for the 2026 Men’s World Cup concluded on TUE 18 NOV 2025. Austria, Belgium, Croatia, England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, and Switzerland have qualified, with 16 others advancing to the UEFA playoffs.

Norway stormed to the top of Group I with eight wins in eight matches, led by Erling HAALAND’s 16 goals, for their first trip to the Men’s World Cup in 28 years. In Group K, England completed a flawless campaign with eight wins, 22 goals scored, and none conceded.

Scotland and Austria also qualified for the first time since 1998, topping Groups C and H respectively. Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia advanced to the playoffs, all aiming to qualify for the first time. North Macedonia, along with Romania, Sweden, and Northern Ireland, advanced as the highest ranking group winners from the 2024-5 UEFA Men’s Nations League that did not finish first or second in their qualifying groups.

The UEFA playoffs take place in MAR 2026. The 16 teams will play two rounds of elimination matches; the last four standing will qualify for Canada/​Mexico/​USA 2026.
