The interconfederation playoffs will be hosted by one or more of the nations hosting the 2026 Men’s World Cup. Six teams will take part; two of them will qualify for the final tournament.

  • Winner CAF playoffs [Congo DR]
  • Winner AFC playoffs elimination phase [Iraq]
  • Top two second placed teams in CONCACAF final round [Jamaica, Suriname]
  • Seventh placed team in CONMEBOL group phase [Bolivia]
  • Loser OFC final match [New Caledonia]
• Two rounds of playoffs:
  • Semifinals: Two matches [two highest teams in FIFA rankings receive byes]
  • Finals: Two matches
• Single matches [extra time and penalties if needed]
• 2 teams qualify for final tournament:
  • Winners of final matches
• Remaining 4 teams eliminated
