The draw for the CONCACAF preliminary round of qualifiers for the 2023 Women’s World Cup was held on SAT 21 AUG 2021. The 30 teams were drawn into six groups of five teams each. The preliminary round begins on WED 24 NOV 2021.
All CONCACAF member nations that are also members of FIFA entered the competition, except the Bahamas, Montserrat, and St Lucia. Canada and the United States advance automatically to the CONCACAF W Championship as CONCACAF’s two highest ranked teams. The remaining 30 teams take part in the preliminary round.
Teams in each group will play one another once. Each team will play two matches WED 24-TUE 30 NOV 2021, and two matches WED 06-TUE 12 APR 2022. The first placed team in each group joins Canada and the United States at the CONCACAF W Championship.
The eight teams at the W Championship will be drawn into two groups of four teams. The top two teams in each group qualify for the Women’s World Cup, and the third placed teams advance to the playoffs.
