Draw for CAF preliminary rounds complete

CAF have held the draw for the preliminary rounds of qualifiers for the 2023 Women’s World Cup. The two preliminary rounds will decide eleven places at the Women’s African Nations Cup.
45 CAF member nations, more than ever before, have entered the qualifiers. As host of the Nations Cup, Morocco receive a bye through both preliminary rounds. The other 44 teams will all play in the first preliminary round, made up of 22 regional pairings. Each series will be played over two legs.
The 22 first round winners advance to the second preliminary round, where they will again play over two legs. These 11 winners will join Morocco at the Nations Cup.
The preliminary rounds are due to begin in JUN 2021, with the match schedule to be confirmed later. The Women’s African Nations Cup will be played in Morocco SAT 02-SAT 23 JUL 2022. The top four teams will qualify for the Women’s World Cup, and two more teams will advance to the playoffs.
