Germany, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ecuador have advanced from Group E at the 2026 Men’s World Cup, with Curaçao eliminated.

Germany opened their campaign brightly, with a 7-1 dismantling of Curaçao. In their next match against Côte d’Ivoire, Franck KESSIÉ put the Elephants ahead in the first half, but after coming on with 30 minutes remaining, Deniz UNDAV scored twice, including the match winner in stoppage time.

Despite the loss to Germany, the Elephants still secured a first ever trip to the elimination phase with wins over Ecuador and Curaçao. Meanwhile, for Ecuador, a win over a heavily rotated German squad and a draw with Curaçao were enough to advance as one of the top third placed teams.

Germany will meet Paraguay in the round of 32 in Foxborough, MA, United States on MON 29 JUN 2026. The following day in Arlington, TX, United States, Côte d’Ivoire will take on Norway. Depending upon results in other groups, Ecuador could end up in any of four round of 32 matches.
