[THU 25 JUN 2026 – 05:22:58 UTC]
Switzerland and Canada have advanced from Group B at the 2026 Men’s World Cup. Qatar have been eliminated, whilst Bosnia-Herzegovina wait to discover if they will advance as one of the top third placed teams.
After conceding a late equaliser in their opening match against Qatar, Switzerland took advantage of a red card to Tarik MUHAREMOVIĆ. The Swiss scored three goals after Bosnia-Herz were reduced to ten, cruising to a 4-1 win. They secured first place with a 2-1 win over cohost Canada.
Despite the loss to Switzerland, Canada still took second place in the group thanks to a 1-1 draw with Bosnia-Herz and a 6-0 win over Qatar, their first ever points at a Men’s World Cup. However, they will be without the services of midfielder Ismaël KONÉ, who suffered a broken leg against Qatar.
Switzerland remain in Vancouver, BC, Canada to face a third placed team in the round of 32 on THU 02 JUL 2026. Canada travel to Inglewood, CA, United States, where they will meet South Africa on SUN 28 JUN 2026.
