The draw for the CAF preliminary rounds of qualifiers for the 2027 Women’s World Cup was held on THU 12 DEC 2024 in Cairo, Egypt. 38 teams will play two elimination rounds to determine 11 places at the Women’s African Nations Cup.

As host nation, Morocco advance to the Nations Cup automatically. The six highest ranked entrants – Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, and Zambia – enter in the second preliminary round. The other teams begin play in the first preliminary round, where they were drawn into pairs on a regional basis.

The first round will be played in FEB 2025, and the second round in OCT 2025. The eleven winners in the second round join Morocco in the Women’s African Nations Cup, to be played in 2026 on dates to be announced. CAF’s four places at the Women’s World Cup and two in the playoffs will be decided at the Nations Cup.
