China PR, Japan, Korea Rep, and the Philippines have qualified for the 2023 Women’s World Cup by winning their quarterfinal matches at the Women’s Asian Cup in India on SUN 30 JAN 2022. They are the first four teams after the cohosts to earn qualification.

Korea Rep defeated Australia 1-0 to secure qualification for the fourth time, whilst Japan’s comprehensive 7-0 victory over Thailand made sure that they would still be the only AFC nation to have qualified for every Women’s World Cup. China PR came back from 1-0 down to Vietnam to record a 3-1 victory. Then, the Philippines edged Chinese Taipei on penalties after their quarterfinal match ended 1-1 after 120 minutes. The result sends the Malditas to the Women’s World Cup for the first time in their history.

Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and Vietnam will have two more opportunities to reach Australia/​New Zealand 2023. The three teams play one another in the repechage playoffs WED 02-SUN 06 FEB 2022, with the top team qualifying directly. The other two teams advance to the playoffs.
