Women’s World Cup match schedule revealed

FIFA have confirmed the match schedule for the 2023 Women’s World Cup. As previously announced, the tournament, the first with 32 teams, runs THU 20 JUL-SUN 20 AUG 2023. The opening match is in Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau, New Zealand, and the final is in Sydney/Gadigal, NSW, Australia.
Groups A, C, E, and G will play in New Zealand, and Groups B, D, F, and H will play in Australia. The host nations will take part in the first two groups, New Zealand in Group A, and Australia in Group B.
The group phase concludes on THU 03 AUG 2023, with a rest day before the start of the elimination phase. Two of the round of 16 matches will be played in New Zealand, the other six in Australia. Hence, four teams will travel from New Zealand to Australia for their round of 16 matches. The winners will travel back to New Zealand and will play one another in the quarterfinals.
New Zealand hosts two round of 16 matches, two quarterfinals, and the first semifinal. The remaining elimination phase matches are in Australia, including the third place match in Brisbane/Meaanjin, QLD.
