Chinese Taipei and Myanmar secured their places at the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup on SUN 24 OCT 2021. The two teams join ten others at the tournament, including six who already advanced from the preliminary round.

Myanmar emerged atop Group D with a perfect nine points from three matches. They defeated Lebanon, Guam, and the United Arab Emirates, all without conceding a goal, to keep their ambitions of a first Women’s World Cup appearance alive.

Chinese Taipei rode to first place in Group A with victories over Laos and Bahrain. LAI Li-Chen scored three of her side’s six goals as Chinese Taipei return to the Women’s Asian Cup for the first time in 14 years.

The draw for the Women’s Asian Cup will be held on THU 28 OCT 2021. Host nation India, along with Australia, Japan, and China PR, received byes directly to the tournament. Indonesia, Iran, Korea Rep, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam were the other teams to advance from the preliminary round.
