[TUE 31 JAN 2017 – 06:46:18 UTC]
The draw for the AFC preliminary round of qualifiers for the 2019 Women’s World Cup was held on SAT 21 JAN 2017 in Amman, Jordan, allocating twenty one Asian sides into four groups. Four of these teams will advance to the AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
Group B features the Korea Rep and Korea DPR, with the latter to host all group matches. Group C, to be hosted by Palestine, also features two squads – Thailand and Chinese Taipei – with previous Women’s World Cup experience.
Group A contains six teams, the other groups five. The first placed team in each group advances to the Women’s Asian Cup, to be played next year in Jordan.
