The match schedule for the 2014 Men’s World Cup has been confirmed at the meeting of FIFA’s executive committee in Zürich, Switzerland. Host Brazil participate in the opener in São Paulo on THU 12 JUN 2014, and the final will kick off in Rio de Janeiro at 19:00 UTC on SUN 13 JUL 2014. Unlike recent tournaments, there will be an off day between the group and elimination phases, meaning that all teams competing in the round of sixteen will do so on at least three days of rest.
