Seven of the eight teams to advance from the AFC preliminary round have been decided, as most groups completed their matches on SAT 05 JUL 2025. One more group begins play next week.

Needing a win to take first place in Group F, Uzbekistan had a 3-1 lead over Nepal in the first half. Just before the interval, however, Uzbekistan’s Nozimakhon ERGASHEVA was shown a second yellow card for a hard challenge. Nepal made the advantage count in the second half, as Sabitra BHANDARI scored in the 72nd and 74th minutes to complete her hat trick and level the scores. A miss by Bhandari, and a save by Uzbek keeper Maftuna JONIMQULOVA on her opposite number Anjana Rana MAGAR, earned the 4-2 shootout win for Uzbekistan.

Bangladesh secured their first appearance at the Asian Cup with a 2-1 win over Myanmar in Group C. India took top spot in Group B as they defeated Thailand 2-1, both goals from Sangita BASFORE.

Group A, featuring Bhutan, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, and Singapore, will begin play on MON 07 JUL 2025 in Jordan. Matches in the group were postponed due to the security situation in the region.
