CONMEBOL have confirmed that their two places at the 2027 Women’s World Cup will be decided by a single qualifying group, rather than at the Women’s Copa América as was previously the case.

The group phase will begin in 2025. CONMEBOL’s nine participating member nations – Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela – will play in a single group. Brazil, as host nation of the final tournament, qualify automatically.

The teams will play each opponent once, four at home and four away. At the conclusion of the group phase, the top two teams will qualify for Brazil 2027, and the next two teams will advance to the interconfederation playoffs. One of these teams will receive a bye directly to the second round of the playoffs.
