Pots confirmed for Women’s Asian Cup draw

The AFC have confirmed the pots for the draw for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup. The twelve teams will be assigned to three groups in the draw, to be held on THU 28 OCT 2021 at AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Host nation India are in the first pot, along with Japan and Australia. The second pot features three other frequent participants at the Women’s World Cup: China PR, Thailand, and Korea Rep.
The draw will begin at 07:00 UTC on THU 28 OCT 2021. Five places at the 2023 Women’s World Cup are to be decided at the Women’s Asian Cup, with Australia having qualified automatically. Two other teams will advance to the playoffs.
