The OFC Women’s Nations Cup began on SUN 18 NOV 2018 with two matches in Group A.

• Samoa 00-05 Papua New Guinea: A hat trick for Meagen GUNEMBA led PNG to a comfortable win to open the tournament.
• Tahiti 02-04 New Caledonia: Taking part in the competition for the first time in 34 years, New Caledonia went 3-0 up after 25 minutes, led by the first two goals of Jackie PAHOA’s international career. Tahiti, however, fought back and made it a one goal match by halftime with a header by Tahia TAMARII and a strike by Niauea HIOE. But tournament hosts New Caledonia settled down in the second half, and Aurelie LALIE extended their lead late on. Tahiti will try to bounce back against Samoa on Wednesday, followed by a meeting between Group A joint leaders New Caledonia and PNG.
