The CAF Women’s African Nations Cup opened in Ghana on SAT 17 NOV 2018, as Group A action kicked off with a victory for the host nation.

• Ghana 01-00 Algeria: Gladys AMFOBEA’s goal in the twelfth minute was all the Black Queens needed to claim the three points.
• Mali 01-02 Cameroon: After a goalless first half, Mali had the first breakthrough, with Aissata TRAORE putting Mali ahead in the 56th minute. But the Indomitable Lionesses lived up to their nickname, finding an equaliser in the 71st through Meffoumetou TCHENO. Ajara NCHOUT scored the winner for Cameroon two minutes later. Cameroon, joint leaders in Group A, take on Algeria on Tuesday, following Ghana’s encounter with Mali.
