• Denmark 01-01 Croatia: Izabela LOJNA’s 60th minute goal had Group 4 bottom dwellers Croatia leading, but a stoppage time equaliser from Nadia NADIM salvaged a point for Denmark. Their meeting with Sweden in Viborg on Tuesday decides who qualifies directly for France 2019, with Sweden having the advantage in case of a draw.
• Scotland 02-01 Switzerland: There was a breathtaking start in Paisley, where Erin CUTHBERT and Kim LITTLE had the home side up 2-0 after six minutes. Lara DICKENMANN pulled one back for the Swiss just one minute later, a crucial goal that gives her side the tiebreaker over Scotland on head to head away goals. Both sides finish their campaigns on Tuesday, and Scotland, facing Albania away, must better Switzerland’s result at Poland to take first place in Group 2.
• Slovakia 00-04 Norway: Lisa-Marie UTLAND’s three goals led Norway to a convincing victory over Slovakia, lifting them to within one point of Group 3 leaders the Netherlands. The Dutch visit Oslo on Tuesday, but Norway can pip them to the top with a victory.
• Wales 00-03 England: Wales entered the match having not conceded any goals in their first seven matches in Group 1. But in the second half, three of the Lionesses – Toni DUGGAN, Jill SCOTT, and Nikita PARRIS – all found a way through the stingy Wales defense, and England secured qualification for the Women’s World Cup with one match to play.
• Iceland 00-02 Germany: Iceland, the first team to defeat Germany in a Women’s World Cup qualifier in nineteen years, would qualify if they were to repeat the feat. But Svenja HUTH’s two goals keep Germany’s hopes alive in Group 5. Germany can qualify with an away draw against the Faroe Is on Tuesday.
