Antigua-Barbuda, Bermuda, and Trinidad-Tobago have taken first place in their respective CONCACAF Caribbean first preliminary round groups and will advance to the second round, joining Cuba and Jamaica. Three of the five teams will earn a place in the CONCACAF Women’s Championship.

In Group C, played in Couva, Trinidad, the home side were locked in a battle with St Kitts-Nevis for top spot after the teams played to a 1-1 draw. On the last day, with Dominica idle and out of the running, St Kitts-Nevis defeated the US Virgin Is 7-0. Trinidad-Tobago came out strong against Grenada in the second match, scoring the six goals they needed by halftime. When the dust settled, Alliyah PRINCE had a hat trick, and T-T had put thirteen past the Grenadan squad.

Antigua-Barbuda delighted their home supporters in St John’s by cruising to first place in Group D. They defeated all three opponents – St Vincent-Grenadines, Curaçao, and St Lucia – without conceding a single goal.

Group E was played in Leonora, Guyana, where the hosts opened with a 2-2 draw against Bermuda. Both teams won on the next matchday, and the decisive final day opened with a 1-0 win for Bermuda over Suriname, as Akeyla FUBERT scored the lone goal late in the first half. Guyana, already holding the advantage on goal difference, needed only to defeat Barbados, but could not break through and managed only a goalless draw.

In the second round, to be played SAT 25 AUG-SUN 02 SEP 2018, Antigua-Barbuda, Bermuda, Cuba, Jamaica, and Trinidad-Tobago will play one another once at a venue to be selected. The top three will advance to the CONCACAF Women’s Championship, which will decide three and one half places at the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
