FIFA retain allocations for 2019 Women’s World Cup
[SUN 20 NOV 2016 – 23:05:37 UTC]
The FIFA council has decided on the same allocations by confederation for the 2019 Women’s World Cup as the previous tournament held in Canada. The decision means a total of nine UEFA teams, including host nation France, will compete.
At its meeting in Zürich, Switzerland on THU 13-FRI 14 OCT 2016, the council decided to keep the same allocations that were used at the 2015 Women’s World Cup, the first to be held with 24 teams. As a result, the qualifiers will conclude with one intercontinental playoff, between the fourth placed team in CONCACAF and the third placed team in CONMEBOL.
46 UEFA nations in race for 2019 » [THU 12 JAN 2017] |
