The South African Ministry of Sport, Arts, and Culture have confirmed that Jayden ADAMS has died. Adams appeared in three matches for South Africa at the 2026 Men’s World Cup.

Adams, a midfielder, appeared in all three of South Africa’s Group A matches, starting two. He also won the CAF Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Police in South Africa reported that the body of a 25 year old male was found at a home in the suburbs of Cape Town. No cause of death has yet been announced. A moment of silence was held in tribute to Adams before each of the two quarterfinal matches played on SAT 11 JUL 2026.
