Ten move on as CAF group phase concludes

The CAF group phase of qualifiers for the 2022 Men’s World Cup ended on TUE 16 NOV 2021. Algeria, Cameroon, Congo DR, Egypt, Ghana, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, and Tunisia advanced to the playoffs.
Morocco were the only team to complete the round with a perfect eighteen points, cruising to the top of Group I. Mali finished Group E with five wins and one draw, as they now find themselves two matches away from their first ever Men’s World Cup appearance.
Cameroon claimed top spot in Group D with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Côte d’Ivoire, as Karl Toko EKAMBI scored the first half winner. Congo DR pipped Benin to the top of Group J with a 2-0 win in Kinshasa.
The teams will be drawn into five pairs that will play home and away in MAR 2022. The winners qualify for Qatar 2022.
