The interconfederation playoffs will feature ten teams; three of them will qualify for the 2027 Women’s World Cup. There are two phases of play, both to be played in Brazil.

LEAGUE PHASE

• 6 teams:
  • 2 losers in AFC Women’s Asian Cup repechage playoffs [Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan]
  • 2 winners in CAF Women’s African Nations Cup repechage playoffs
  • Lower in FIFA rankings of third and fourth placed teams in CONMEBOL group phase
  • Loser OFC final match [Papua New Guinea]
• Teams seeded into three tiers of 2 teams each, based on FIFA rankings
  • Three matches per team: one against one opponent from each tier
  • Teams from the same confederation cannot play one another
• 2 teams advance to elimination phase:
  • Top two teams
• Remaining 4 teams eliminated

ELIMINATION PHASE

• 6 teams:
  • Lowest ranked winner in UEFA playoffs
  • 2 winners in CONCACAF W Championship repechage playoffs
  • Higher in FIFA rankings of third and fourth placed teams in CONMEBOL group phase
  • 2 teams advancing from league phase
• Three matches
• Single matches [extra time and penalties if needed]
• 3 teams qualify for final tournament:
  • Winners of each match
• Remaining 3 teams eliminated
