The Netherlands have qualified for the 2019 Women’s World Cup after a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the UEFA playoff final against Switzerland. The Netherlands win 4-1 on aggregate.

The Oranje came to Schaffhausen feeling confident after a 3-0 first leg victory, but they were reduced to ten players early on, as captain Anouk DEKKER was sent off in the eighth minute for a hard challenge on Ramona BACHMANN. Nonetheless, the Dutch extended their aggregate lead through Vivianne MIEDEMA in the 52nd. Coumba SOW added a consolation goal for the Swiss in the 71st minute.

The Netherlands qualify for the second time after making their début appearance in Canada in 2015, whilst Switzerland, who also qualified for the first time in 2015, fall short of the same feat.
