• Brazil 01-00 Spain: The Brazilian squad locked up first place in Group E with a match to spare. ANDRESSA ALVES scored the lone goal shortly before halftime.
• England 02-01 Mexico: This match was goalless after 70 minutes, but shortly afterward, Fran KIRBY put England ahead. Karen CARNEY headed in a second, and despite a stoppage time goal from Fabiola IBARRA, Mexico could not find the vital equaliser. They will need to defeat France on Wednesday to have any hope of a maiden voyage to the elimination phase.
• Korea Rep 02-02 Costa Rica: Karla VILLALOBOS’s 89th minute goal secured a draw for the Ticas, second in Group E with two points. The result sets up a do or die battle between Korea Rep and Spain on Wednesday.
