When the group phase of the Women’s World Cup concludes, sixteen teams will have earned a place in the elimination phase: the top two in each group, and the best four amongst the third placed teams [by points, goal difference, and finally goals scored].

The first placed teams in Groups A-D will meet a third placed team in the round of sixteen. Who will face whom is defined in Article 28 of the tournament regulations, based upon which groups’ third placed teams advance:

• A, B, C, D: 1A-3C, 1B-3D, 1C-3A, 1D-3B
• A, B, C, E: 1A-3C, 1B-3A, 1C-3B, 1D-3E
• A, B, C, F: 1A-3C, 1B-3A, 1C-3B, 1D-3F
