The draw for the UEFA playoffs has been held, pitting Scotland against the Netherlands and Italy against Ukraine. The winners will then face one another for UEFA’s eighth and final place at the 2015 Women’s World Cup.

Of the four, only Italy have qualified previously, in 1999. In the playoffs for the 2011 Women’s World Cup, they defeated Ukraine 3-0 on aggregate, only to fall at the last hurdle to the United States. Both Scotland and the Netherlands finished second in their respective groups in the 2011 qualifiers.

The first legs of the semifinals, to be hosted by Scotland and Italy, will be played SAT 25-SUN 26 OCT 2014, with the second legs following on WED 29-THU 30 OCT 2014. The Scotland-Netherlands winner will host the first leg of the final on SAT 22-SUN 23 NOV 2014, and the second leg is set for WED 26-THU 27 NOV 2014.
