
Jordan round out Asian Cup field

Jordan qualified for their first Women’s Asian Cup by winning all three matches in AFC preliminary group A in Amman. Their 4-0 win over Uzbekistan on the last day of the group sealed their place in Vietnam.
The Jordanian squad had previously defeated Lebanon 5-0 and Kuwait 21-0. Sama’a KHRAISAT scored twice against Uzbekistan as all four goals came in the second half.
Jordan join Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam as the four teams to advance out of the preliminary round. Australia, China PR, Japan, and Korea Rep advanced automatically to the Women’s Asian Cup, from which the top five teams qualify to the Women’s World Cup.
