Vietnam have been selected as host of the 2014 Women’s Asian Cup, the tournament that will decide the five AFC teams to participate at the 2015 Women’s World Cup.

The AFC Executive Committee had previously granted hosting rights to Vietnam, contingent on the team advancing to the tournament. That, however, was never really in doubt as the Vietnamese squad ran roughshod over their Group C rivals in the preliminary round, winning all three matches with 24 goals scored and none conceded.

The Women’s Asian Cup is to be held in Ho Chi Minh City WED 14-SUN 25 MAY 2014. The top two teams in each group, plus the winner of a playoff match between the groups’ third placed teams, qualify for Canada 2015.
