Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam advance to Asian Cup

Southeast Asian sides were successful in the first three groups of the AFC preliminary round of qualifiers for the 2015 Women’s World Cup. Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam saw off their competitors to advance.
The Thais and Vietnamese each accumulated a perfect nine points, with Thailand scoring fifteen goals in Group B and Vietnam 24 in Group C.
Myanmar finished Group D level with Chinese Taipei on seven points after the two teams played to a goalless draw on SAT 25 MAY 2013. But it was Myanmar who advanced on goal difference, finishing with eleven goals scored and none conceded.
The three teams join the Group A winner and the automatically qualified sides – Australia, China PR, Japan, and Korea Rep – at next year’s Women’s Asian Cup, which decides the five teams that will represent Asia at Canada 2015.
