Four diverse groups were drawn as the AFC determined the preliminary round allocations.
Chinese Taipei, the only participants who have ever qualified for the Women’s World Cup, compete in Group D alongside Myanmar, India, and hosts Palestine. Thailand, who turned in a respectable performance at the 2010 Women’s Asian Cup, travel to Bangladesh to compete in Group B with Iran, the Philippines, and the hosts.
Teams play their group opponents once, and the winners advance to the Women’s Asian Cup. Groups B-D will all be played TUE 21-SUN 26 MAY 2013, and Group A matches will be WED 05-SUN 09 JUN 2013.
