The format for the OFC qualifiers for the 2026 Men’s World Cup has been announced. For the first time, the OFC have an automatic place at the tournament, plus an additional place in the playoffs.

Of the OFC’s 11 FIFA members, the four lowest in the FIFA rankings will take part in the preliminary round in SEP 2024. The winner will advance to the group phase, joining the seven top ranked teams.

These eight teams play in two groups in OCT-NOV 2024. The top two teams in each group will advance to the elimination phase, where two rounds of knockout matches will determine the team that qualifies and the team that moves on to the playoffs. These matches will be held in MAR 2025.

All eleven FIFA member nations are expected to take part. Details on the draw and the number and location of matches are yet to be confirmed.
