Playoffs to be single matches; draw on 26 Nov

FIFA have announced that the playoffs for the last two places at the 2022 Men’s World Cup will be played as single matches on MON 13-TUE 14 JUN 2022. The draw will be held on FRI 26 NOV 2021.
The playoffs were originally to be played over two legs, but owing to continuing travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, FIFA have decided to stage the playoffs as single matches in neutral venues.
The draw will be conducted in Zürich, Switzerland on FRI 26 NOV 2021, immediately after the draw for the UEFA playoffs. The draw is unseeded and will match the four participating confederations into two pairs. The playoff teams will be:
- Winner AFC playoff
- 4th CONCACAF final round
- 5th CONMEBOL group phase
- Winner OFC qualifiers
