The CONCACAF first round ended with 11 matches on TUE 08 JUN 2021. Canada, Curaçao, El Salvador, Haiti, Panama, and St Kitts-Nevis advanced to the second round.

Haiti secured top spot in Group E with a 1-0 victory over Nicaragua in a heavy downpour in Port-au-Prince. Derrick ETIENNE’s second half goal was all that separated the two sides.

El Salvador defeated Antigua-Barbuda 3-0 but were made to work for it, as Alexander LARIN’s goal line clearance early in the second half kept the match at 1-0. Twelve minutes later, David RUGAMAS extended the Cuzcatlecos’ lead, catching A-B keeper Molvin JAMES off his line on a counterattack. The win earned first place in Group A for El Salvador.

Draws against unfancied Puerto Rico and the Bahamas doomed Trinidad-Tobago to an early elimination, as St Kitts-Nevis pipped them to the Group F title. The Soca Warriors’ 2-0 win on Tuesday was insufficient to surpass the Sugar Boyz’ nine points.

Each second round series will be played over two legs, SAT 12-TUE 15 JUN 2021. The aggregate winners advance to the final round.
