The UEFA group phase of qualifiers for the 2022 Men’s World Cup began with an extended international window on WED 24-WED 31 MAR 2021. In all, 75 matches were played over the eight days.

Title holders France stumbled to a 1-1 draw with Ukraine but followed that with away victories over Kazakhstan and Bosnia-Herzegovina. They are four points clear in Group D.

Denmark opened Group F with three victories, including an 8-0 win over Moldova and a 4-0 win over Austria. England and Italy also hold perfect totals of nine points.

Group J features the only other team to win all three matches, Armenia. They defeated Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Romania. Meanwhile, group favourites Germany fell to North Macedonia 2-1 after Eljif ELMAS’s 85th minute winner.

Turkey hold the early lead in Group G, helped by Burak YILMAZ’s hat trick in a 4-2 win over the Netherlands.

The group phase resumes in SEP 2021 with another three matchdays.
