Morocco and Croatia advanced from Group F at the 2022 Men’s World Cup, as Belgium and Canada were eliminated.
Following a goalless draw with Croatia, Morocco defeated Belgium 2-0 on late goals from Romain SAÏSS and Zakaria ABOUKHLAL. The Atlas Lions then secured their place in the round of 16 with a 2-1 win over Canada.
After the Morocco draw, Croatia fell behind early to Alphonso DAVIES’s second minute goal, Canada’s first in their Men’s World Cup history. The Blazers, however, stormed back to a 4-1 win, paced by two goals from Andrej KRAMARIĆ. A 0-0 draw with Belgium wrapped up second place for Croatia.
Morocco advance to face the second placed team in Group E, and Croatia will meet the first placed team from the same group.
