Yemen punished for ineligible player
[WED 08 JUL 2015 – 01:18:05 UTC]

FIFA have sanctioned Yemen for using an ineligible player in their AFC first phase Group H match against Korea DPR. Yemen had lost the match 1-0 anyway, but that has now been changed to a 3-0 forfeiture.

Yemen defender Mudir AL RADAEI played in his team’s Group H opener against Korea DPR on THU 11 JUN 2015. However, he had already been booked in both legs of the preliminary round series against Pakistan and should have been suspended for the Korea DPR match. Because he did not serve the suspension, the FIFA disciplinary committee changed the result to a 3-0 loss and fined the Yemen Football Association.
