Haiti have advanced to the CONCACAF Women’s Caribbean Cup on a 1-0 win over Cuba that earned them first place in preliminary Group 4.

Both teams had defeated Suriname in their first matches, and Haiti’s superior goal difference would have sent them through in the case of a draw. But an own goal by Cuba’s Dayanai BARO MESA with just five minutes remaining sealed first place for Haiti. They will now head to Trinidad-Tobago, where the top three Caribbean teams will advance to the CONCACAF Women’s Championship, one step away from the Women’s World Cup.
