CONCACAF announce road to Women’s World Cup
[WED 14 MAY 2014 – 04:36:20 UTC]
CONCACAF nations have learned what they need to accomplish in order to qualify for the 2015 Women’s World Cup. The route is of varying lengths.
Canada, as host, qualify automatically for the Women’s World Cup but will also participate in the qualifying tournament, as will host nation Mexico, the United States, and five other nations. The top three teams, excluding Canada, will qualify, and the next highest placed team will advance to the CONCACAF/CONMEBOL playoff.
A variety of preliminary rounds will be held to decide the other five places at the CONCACAF tournament. Two groups in Central America will each send a team, and three teams will advance from the inaugural Women’s Caribbean Cup.
