The Qatar-Ecuador match in Group A at the 2022 Men’s World Cup has been rescheduled to SUN 20 NOV 2022, FIFA have confirmed. This makes it the first match of the tournament.

Qatar and Ecuador were to have played one another in Al Khor at 16:00 UTC [19:00 AST] on MON 21 NOV 2022, after the Senegal-Netherlands and England-Iran matches. The match has now been moved one day earlier, at the same time. The opening ceremony will still be held before kickoff.

The Senegal-Netherlands match has been changed from 10:00 UTC [13:00 AST] to 16:00 UTC [19:00 AST], the same time slot previously occupied by the Qatar-Ecuador match.
