Iran, Japan, Korea Rep, and Saudi Arabia have qualified for the 2022 Men’s World Cup after the AFC final round concluded on TUE 29 MAR 2022. The United Arab Emirates and Australia advance to the playoff, with the winner to face Peru.

Iran and Korea Rep made short work of their Group A opposition, each qualifying with at least two matches left to play. The UAE wrapped up third place in the group with a 1-0 win over Korea Rep on the final day on Harib ABDALLA’s 54th minute goal.

Japan secured their place at Qatar 2022 with a 2-0 win over Australia on THU 24 MAR 2022, whilst Saudi Arabia’s 1-1 draw against China PR later in the day earned their qualification.

The UAE meet Australia in Doha, Qatar, on TUE 07 JUN 2022, and the winner remains in Doha to square off against Peru a week later with a place at the Men’s World Cup awaiting the winner. Both rounds will be played as single matches.
