• Ireland Rep 00-00 Wales: A goalless draw was not without incident, as a hard challenge by Neil TAYLOR saw Ireland Rep captain Seamus COLEMAN stretchered off with a broken leg. Taylor was shown the red card, but the Irish squad could not capitalise on about twenty minutes of a man advantage. Serbia move ahead of Ireland Rep and become Group D leaders on goal difference.
• Bulgaria 02-00 Netherlands: Spas DELEV scored his first two international goals to lead Bulgaria into third place in Group A. The Oranje tumble to fourth place, six points off the pace set by France.
• Portugal 03-00 Hungary: Two goals from CRISTIANO RONALDO take his international total to 70, placing him fourth all time amongst European players. Portugal remain three points behind Group B leaders Switzerland.
• Belgium 01-01 Greece: Kostas MITROGLU put the visiting side ahead early in the second half, but they were reduced to ten men when Panagiotis TACHTSIDIS received a second yellow in the 65th minute. Romelu LUKAKU scored a late equaliser to earn the Red Devils a share of the points, keeping them atop Group H.
• Northern Ireland 02-00 Norway: N Ireland took the lead early on Jamie WARD’s second minute strike, and Conor WASHINGTON added another in the 33rd. They keep pace with Group C leaders Germany, who are still five points ahead.
• Montenegro 01-02 Poland: Robert LEWANDOWSKI scored his 43rd goal for Poland, putting him within five of all time leader Włodzimierz LUBAŃSKI. Stefan MUGOSA equalised for the home side, but a late winner from Łukasz PISZCZEK secured the three points and extended Poland’s lead in Group E to six points.
• Scotland 01-00 Slovenia: Chris MARTIN’s low shot beat Slovenian goalkeeper Jan OBLAK in the 88th minute, leading Scotland back into the hunt in Group F. Slovenia, handed their first loss of the campaign, fall to third place, five points adrift of group leaders England.
