FIFA have confirmed that the seeded teams in the draw for the UEFA playoffs will be Croatia, Greece, Portugal, and Ukraine. Each faces one out of France, Iceland, Romania, and Sweden. The four winning teams qualify for the Men’s World Cup.

The seeds were determined based on the FIFA rankings for OCT 2013. The highest seeded playoff participant, Portugal, are ranked 14th overall. France, at 21st, are the highest ranked of the unseeded teams, with surprise package Iceland bringing up the rear in 46th place.

The draw will be held at FIFA headquarters in Zürich, Switzerland, at 12:00 UTC on MON 21 OCT 2013. The playoffs are scheduled for FRI 15-TUE 19 NOV 2013.
