It paid off in the 84th minute, when US keeper Brad GUZAN tipped a cross directly to Luis TEJADA, who made no mistake from point blank range. But delight in Panama City soon turned to despair, as first Graham ZUSI and then Aron JÓHANNSSON scored for the US in stoppage time. The result ends Panama’s hopes of a first Men’s World Cup appearance and throws a lifeline to Mexico, who must now face New Zealand.
