The CONCACAF Men’s Nations League is a tournament that gives all 41 men’s national teams in CONCACAF an opportunity to play competitive matches on a regular basis. The 2023-4 edition also serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2024 CONMEBOL Men’s Copa América.
All 41 CONCACAF member nations take part in the Men’s Nations League, including the six that are not FIFA members [Bonaire, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Sint Maarten, and St Martin].
Teams in the Men’s Nations League are divided into three leagues. There are sixteen teams in League A, sixteen in League B, and nine in League C. Teams in League A play for the Men’s Nations League championship, and teams in Leagues B and C play for promotion to the next higher league.
ALLOCATION TO LEAGUES
Teams have been allocated to the leagues based upon their performances in the 2022-3 CONCACAF Men’s Nations League.
- League A:
- Canada, Costa Rica, Curaçao, El Salvador, Grenada, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, Suriname, United States
- Promoted from League B: Cuba, Guatemala, Haiti, Trinidad-Tobago
- League B:
- Antigua-Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Dominican Rep, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Montserrat, Nicaragua, St Vincent-Grenadines
- Promoted from League C: Puerto Rico, Sint Maarten, St Kitts-Nevis, St Lucia
- League C:
Nicaragua’s promotion to League A was annulled due to the use of an ineligible player in the 2022-3 Men’s Nations League. Trinidad-Tobago were promoted in their place as the next best team overall in League B.
In the league phase, each league is divided into groups. The league phase is played SEP-NOV 2023.
The draw for the league phase was held on TUE 16 MAY 2023 in Miami, FL, USA.
In League A, the top four teams in the CONCACAF rankings [Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the United States] receive byes to the elimination phase.
The remaining twelve teams in the league play in two groups, each containing six teams. Each team plays four matches, two at home and two away. The top two teams in each group advance to the elimination phase, and the last two teams in each group are relegated to League B for the next edition of the tournament.

In League B, there are four groups, each containing four teams. The first placed teams in each group are promoted to League A, and the last placed teams are relegated to League C.
In League C, there are three groups, each containing three teams. The first placed teams in each group, plus the best second placed team, are promoted to League B.
The top two teams in each League A group advance to the elimination phase, joining the four byed teams.
The elimination phase begins with the quarterfinals, played in NOV 2023. Each quarterfinal is played over two legs, between one of the byed teams and one of the teams that advanced from the league phase.
The quarterfinal winners advance to the final round, played in MAR 2024 in the United States. These four teams are ranked by their performance in the quarterfinals. In the semifinal matches, the highest ranked team plays the lowest ranked team, and the second ranked team plays the third ranked team. The winners contest the final match, and the losers contest the third place match.

CONMEBOL MEN’S COPA AMÉRICA QUALIFICATION
League A serves as the qualifying competition for CONCACAF’s six entrants in the 2024 CONMEBOL Men’s Copa América. The quarterfinal winners qualify automatically. The losing quarterfinalists will take part in a playoff for the remaining two places in MAR 2024 in the United States.
