The seedings for the UEFA playoffs have been confirmed, with Croatia, Denmark, Italy, and Switzerland to be placed in the first pot. The second pot includes Greece, Ireland Rep, Northern Ireland, and Sweden. The draw is to be held at 12:00 UTC on TUE 17 OCT 2017.

The seedings were based upon the FIFA rankings for OCT 2017, including all matches through the completion of the UEFA group phase. Switzerland, at 11th, are the highest ranked team in the playoffs, with Greece lowest at 47th. All four teams in Pot 1 are ranked in the top twenty.

The draw takes place in Zürich, Switzerland, at 12:00 UTC on TUE 17 OCT 2017. Each series will pair one team from each pot. The playoffs will be played over two legs on THU 09-TUE 14 NOV 2017, and the order of hosting will be decided randomly during the draw. The four winners on aggregate qualify for Russia 2018.
